The general refuge Achille Papa is located at the Porte del Pasubio, at 1928 m on the massif of the same name, at the head of the Val Canale, in a panoramic position on the southern side of the mountain and is named after General Achille Papa.
It was built in 1921 on what remained of a masonry shelter of the barracks of the First World War, located away from the Austrian artillery.
Over the years it has undergone various renovations and restoration works and today the Rifugio Papa, property of the CAI of Schio, is an open refuge for the whole summer period, from June to September, and on the weekends of October and November.
A few meters above the refuge itself, in the rest of the year, is accessible the bivouac Marzotto-Sacchi, wanted by the families of the two young Giuseppe Marzotto and Franco Sacchi after their premature death. The bivouac can accommodate 7 people on two floors and includes a table.
